IRCC2016

Can you believe it? I am participating in the 6th Annual Italian Renaissance Costuming Challenge!

Although my entrant page will be updated monthly, I’ll also be posting here about what I’m doing.

The background: The girls & I have really taken an interest in attending Texas Renaissance Festival but they don’t have appropriate garb so I thought this would be the perfect time for me to get busy!

I decided to start with Kayle but will be doing garb for Mara as well. Since neither have renaissance garb, we’ll have to go from the skin out. The camicia or chemise is first. I was able to use cotton from my stash.

I chose to use the camicia tutorial found at Arabella’s Realm of Venus pages. Inserting the gussets between the sleeves and body was interesting. It’s a good thing I’ve done gores not too long ago. I am very pleased with how it has gone together, especially since no pattern was used. Up next – stays!
